We are extremely fortunate to have Vaughani Shores, one of the premier dive and in Vanuatu, as one of our neighbours. It is run by our friends Karl and Michele, and we highly recommend spending time with them. Experiences range from basic intoductory viewing of the reef's inner secrets by snorkel, discovering marine ecology or photography, right through to advanced scuba and cavern diving.. |
||||
| Pangona is situated on TukTuku Bay, an under- water paradise set in a rural environment of tide pools and an old growth forest. Visitors feel like they have escaped to the outer islands for the day. The Snorkelling and diving is in small groups of 2 to 4 people, so you are sure to receive very personal attention. | ![]() |

Because you are staying at Sanddollar, you have convenient shore access for excellent snorkelling right on your doorstep. Karl can take you further on his boat to experience the protected shallows of Tukutuku Point, an entirely different reef viewing experience. Karl can arrive by truck with all the gear necessary for a complete introductory scuba session in the Sandollar pool. All you do is put your swim suit on after breakfast. Vaughani Shores has a variety of wetsuits and boots to accommodate everyone. After the pool experience he’ll come around by boat and pick you up and you’ll head out for your discover scuba dive. Depending on conditions this might be a shore dive in front of Sanddollar or a boat dive 300m away. And if you decide to only have the pool experience that’s fine too! Vaughani Shores offer a brief description of the various dive and snorkel sites you have the opportunity to visit. |

Dive sites are a panorama of small and large caverns and crevices that connect via shallow channels and deeper bommies adorned with red, pink, and deep purple coralline algae. Stunningly beautiful critters complementing the intricate geography include yellow and blue lace corals, large red gorgonians, and perched feather stars. These colourful filter feeders stand out in the mild current against the plethora of tropical fish, soft and stony corals, giant clams and other invertebrates that complete the seascape of ledges and overhangs. |
||||
Karl and Michele also offer an interpretive ecological experience that includes optional marine life slide shows and underwater photos and videos of your dives or snorkels. Vaughani Shores is a PADI Project AWARE Go ECO operator that specialises in guided cavern diving and advanced snorkelling in an off-the-beaten path adventure. |

The water is extremely clear and the reefs are pristine, with several sites only a few minutes away yet to be fully explored. |
